RNS: Anglicans in Montreal, San Francisco Vote for Same-Sex Blessings

The day after the Montreal vote, representatives of the San Francisco-based Episcopal Diocese of California approved use of rites for the blessing of same-sex couples, opening the way for Bishop Marc Andrus to allow them on a trial basis in Bay Area Episcopal churches.

The resolution both affirmed “the unanimous decision…to refuse to discriminate against partnered gay and lesbian(s)” and deplored “the lack of access to adequate pastoral and ritual care for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in large parts of the Episcopal Church and the refusal of the majority of our bishops to make provision for it.”

Canada and US to Anglican Communion: drop dead! :-p

    Libaryjim,

Nope. First, the entire TEC did not pass the ressolutions. Second, thanks to the bullydox, the “Anglican Communion” is already a dead man limping.

The agenda continues while the ABC and the official AC continues to do nothing.

Jim, what is your solution to the untenable situation in Montreal & San Francisco?

    BULLYprogs! That’s what they are!
Say, perhaps we could exhange the rather tired re-appraiser label for BULLYprogs! I quess that would make re-asserters BULLYdox. But of course this confuses the issue since behaviourally it is the progressives who are bullying the Anglican Communion and the conservatives who are BULLYfrogs in the pot being boiiled by the libprogs.

Guess we best stick with reappraiser and reasserter!

Perhaps NorteoAmericanos need a time-out from the playground? Or should we wait for the NorteoEuropeanos to act out and put them all in time out?

We could – and based on historical inactivity, probably will – just wait for them all to finish trashing the park. That’ll show ’em! And they can claim “the Anglican Communion isn’t the boss of me” to their dying cultic content.

    This name calling grows tiresome.

I completely concur with the Archer. I have sat here wondering how to respond to the latest name tossed out into the blogosphere. I have decided it doesn’t any more comment. I can not prevent anyone calling me names. I can only trust in the Name above all Names.

    Jimb,
Name calling is the avenue that those who have no arguments take. In all the years we’ve corresponded (beginning with Episcotalk in the 90s), I’ve come to expect more from you. You used to debate with arguments and positions, not with names and personal attacks. What happened?

    Phil,

    1) I did not mean anyone here — wow are people touchy!

    2) “bullydox” has become a quick shorthand for the set of bishops who have suceeded (albeit they are according to many here persecutted) in bullying Dr. Williams into some amazing contortions, including the betrayal of Jeffry John.

It is clear that the term is offensive in this context: I should not have used it. I appologize. I shall not do so again.

Step by step the Reformation self-destructs as both Catholic Tradition and Evangelical Biblical witness are flushed down the secular toilet placed in so many mainstream Protestant churches by faulty (Modernist) plumbing.
