When will people get the picture: these charges or any others subsequently brought are not really charges — they are only excuses and justifications for getting rid of those nasty conservatives who keep trying to slow the juggernaut down.
No one — even I — enjoys seeing real malice in people’s behavior. But the cold, calculating evil behind this whole long process is real if breath-taking.
Canterbury will NOT come to the rescue. As they say in Chicago, “The fix is in.”
Sad but true. It gives me NO pleasure to say it. But WHEN are people going to wake up and see the game for what it is?!? As long as you engage the game on their terms, they win.

I had the unfortunate experience of living in the Diocese of Newark back in the 1990s and accidentally heard the laying of the plans even then for what is happening now. I knew it and saw it and could do nothing to wake people up.
A few weeks ago, an old email from (I believe) from Susan Russel came out in which she outlined the devious delaying tactics and manipulations that were being used.
My only hope in making the postings I have made over the past few years has been to try to wake people up to this game: just keep the game going as long as possible because as long as you distract people with discussions and anaylses you can keep pushing the agenda forward. Time has always been on their side.
And for me, it has worked. I have thrown in the towel. I have been Cassandra, and it has hurt a lot. I’m done. What will happenn to Albany or what Albany will do, I can’t imagine.
I now spend my time saying the rosary. Maybe that’s the only way to genuine victory.

Everybody felt the necessity of fighting the good fight as they understood it. I certainly did.
If it seemed to you, Chris, that I was attacking you personnally, I apologize. I can’t help it, though — I always did see this coming. What I hoped for was that people would wake up to the game they were playing in order to take a different strategy from merely participating in what was only ever designed to be delaying tactics.
Has TEC been worth the effort of trying to save it? I’m afraid that I have the romantic idea found in Lewis’ [i]Last Battle[/i]: The Real Narnia exists finally in the Kingdom of God.
Meanwhile, the real question is always, “What does God want of us; what is He trying to do?” He wants faithfulness: not to an earthly structure, but to Himself and His own Kingdom. And, patently, TEC is not that. We are called to true caritas/agape with our brothers and sister IN Christ and in Christ alone. We must be about living in His Kingdom authentically and without compromise.
There has been a deep pain and longing in many to try to salvage what once was the Episcopal Church in the USA. It is gone. This causes grief. I can honor your effort, but the end game was inevitable.
This is not intended to be a fancy “I-told-you-so.” I hope, my brother, that we will find each other on the other side of this. Jesus told us that there comes a time when the truth has been spoken, and the only thing left to do is to “shake off the dust” and move on.
HE and He only can and will build His Kingdom as we yiedl ourselves to Him.
I shook the dust off my sandals in 2009. Let us try to be about moving into what our good Lord has for us to do now.

That’s what those of us in TEC are doing. It’s great you’re doing it over there, outside of TEC. I’m not sure of the purpose of your comments.
And I’m not sure why you are saying what those of us still in TEC have already known and have also repeatedly pointed out — it’s not as if any of this is surprising, somehow. Are you saying that we couldn’t have known “the end game” because if we had we’d have agreed with you about the value of remaining in TEC?

Yes, it was evident soon after Howe’s letter from Rowan came out that it was no longer “operative”. Knowing how 815 works, I’m sure that back channel communications were made with Lambeth Palace and the usual wink back from the Archbiship obtained. It was all pretty predictable. Sad, but predictable.
