Jeffrey Walton–Activists for TEC's New Theology Hail Victories at Episcopal Convention

Following [Gene] Robinson’s sermon, [Mary] Glasspool celebrated communion with several transgender-themed prayers.

“Spirit of Life, we thank you for disordering our boundaries and releasing our desires as we prepare this feast of delight,” the offering prayer began. “Draw us out of hidden places and centers of conformity to feel your laughter and live in your pleasure.”

Read it all and be sure to look at this.

1. Karen B. says:

oh Kendall. I’m sorry, but I can’t read any more. I am *NOT* being snarky but totally truthful in saying that just reading this excerpt literally turned my stomach.

Oh Father, have mercy.

2. Ralph says:

It’s not the Spirit of Life that disorders boundaries and releases human desires.

The spirit that does that is indeed laughing.

If there had been any doubt, we know with clarity which spirit guides Miss Glasspool.

‘Silly myths’ indeed. Paul could see it and see it coming both.

At creation the earth was without form, and the Holy Spirit hovered over the void and brought order out of chaos. God separated light from day, the waters above the firmament from the waters below the firmament, dry land from water. GOD CREATED PHYSICAL BOUNDARIES. God graciously gave the children of Israel The Ten Commandments, a set of spiritual boundaries. GOD COMMANDED SPIRITUAL AND SOCIAL BOUNDARIES. Proverbs instructs us not to move the ancient boundary stones (22:28) GOD’S COMMANDS DO NOT EXPIRE. HE IS TRYING TO PROTECT US FROM OURSELVES.

#1 I, too, am feeling that continued association with some of these people is spiritually unhealthy and dispiriting. I pity those in the majority of dioceses, living in parish bubbles, where these changes may all-too-soon be imposed with an iron hand by activist bishops. I pity the children brought up in churches run by people like this, children ho never will have a sense of the joys of redeemed holiness emanating from a leadership in active and corporate rebellion against God. A couple of General Conventions ago an orthodox bishop described it as like watching with the horrific fascination of seeing a train wreck. Observing the current GC is like watching a corpse decompose. I remember an RC priest telling me 25 years ago that society was growing increasingly pagan. I thought his remark was ridiculous. Who would dream that such a revolution would sweep society and that it would become institutionalized and enshrined as doctrine in TEC.

I think it’s time to send in that file to the Ordinariate.

7. Milton says:

#4 Jill, you’re wasting your all caps shouting at the “celebrants”. Their consciences apparently were seared dead and insensitive long ago and Isaiah 6:9-12 is the judgment given them. This is just the full flower of blossoming spiritual maggots. Kyrie elieson!

8. Jill Woodliff says:

I know that the gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgendered activists are motivated out of compassion. I don’t think they would knowingly introduce paganism. However, we have documented time and time and time again many, many heresies, pro-choice activism, syncretism, and neopaganism. They comprise a toxic stew.
We are talking about unseen realms here. Based on close observation over many years, I’ve come to the conclusion that when you invite just one ungodly spirit in, that spirit somehow props the door open for the other spirits. Short of confession, renunciation, repentance, and applying the Blood of the Lamb, you cannot keep them out.

I don’t know how Bishop Gray voted on this matter and I doubt that he went to the Integrity victory party, but regardless of his vote, he is still planning to bring Bishop Mary Glasspool to his diocese in Mississippi, where she can influence vulnerable young people with her hedonist, pagan theology as she expresses it in her prayers to the: “Spirit of Life, we thank you for disordering our boundaries and releasing our desires as we prepare this feast of delight” — “Draw us out of hidden places and centers of conformity to feel your laughter and live in your pleasure.”

I pray that God will have mercy on the young people who Bishop Glasspool will influence and ask that He will open their eyes to the sure guidance that is contained in Holy Scripture.

10. tired says:

Ironically, TEC conforms even more to the world about it – just as she blindly prays to be drawn out of ‘centers of conformity.’

🙄

11. magnolia says:

sickening, just…sickening.

12. Teatime2 says:

Thank you. This is precisely the type of material we need to have on hand to help people take a stand. When the activists take great pains to sound reasonable, it’s more difficult to sound the alarm. This makes it easy.

13. bettcee says:

Contrast Mary Glasspool’s prayers with the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray.

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.

Jesus asks that our Father will lead us not into temptation and that He will deliver us from evil.

Mary Glasspool’s prayers welcome temptation:

“Spirit of Life, we thank you for disordering our boundaries and releasing our desires as we prepare this feast of delight”
“Draw us out of hidden places and centers of conformity to feel your laughter and live in your pleasure.”

…………And it seems that there is no thought about delivering us from the evils that accompany this “feast of delight”.
