(Telegraph) Christians should 'leave their beliefs at home or get another job'

Christians should leave their religious beliefs at home or accept that a personal expression of faith at work, such as wearing a cross, means they might have to resign and get another job, government lawyers have said.

Landmark cases, brought by four British Christians, including two workers forced out of their jobs after visibly wearing crosses, have been heard today at the European Court of Human Rights
David Cameron, the Prime Minister, has previously pledged to change the law to protect religious expression at work but official legal submissions on Tuesday to Strasbourg human rights judges made a clear “difference between the professional and private sphere”.

James Eadie QC, acting for the government, told the European court that the refusal to allow an NHS nurse and a British Airways worker to visibly wear a crucifix at work “did not prevent either of them practicing religion in private”, which would be protected by human rights law.

Who would think they have a church of state, which their Queen pledged to defend at her coronation? Any wonder tht Anglicanism has moved to Africa?

    No, none at all!

Christians will just have to come up with a new way of identifying each other. That’s the basis for the fish in the earliest days of persecution, the clerical collar when RCism was suppressed in England, and there must be other examples. Anyone? anyone?

Wear the fish………all of the time, and everywhere you go! And above all, keep spreading the Word!

Coming soon to a courhouse near you in the US if we continue to elect moral relativists and secular “progressives”. If we allow the current attacks on religion in the US to continue, we will be getting the same thing here. When a president will not talk about freedom of religion but instead calls it “freedom of worship”, we are headed for the same thing. Keep your religion inside the walls of your Church, not in public. That is NOT freedom, that is tyranny.

    All very good points.

Liberals will swear till blue in the face that this will not happen in other countries, but they are deluded and want you to share their delusion. These same things will happen in America, Australia and other places if we are not vigilant.

This is pretty much the way the U.S. is headed as well.
