More variations on a familiar theme, namely the utter hypocrisy of the advocates of “inclusivity” and tolerance and openmindedness who are actually acting in a way that highly controlling and manipulative. No surprise, it’s the standard Modus Operandi for the denizens who operate out of that den of darkness at 815 Second Ave. But I’m glad the Anglican Curmudgeon called attention to it.
While I don’t agree with 815’s policies, I don’t really see that this is anything to get upset about. They planned to show these videos during Lent and have simply forgotten to take them down.
they’ve put in a 301 redirect so that episcopalchurch.org automatically goes to iamepiscopalian.org. not necessarily a problem were it not for the message they have…

No acrimony. I think Mr. Haley is just providing us all with an opportunity for a collective giggle at their efforts to put lipstick on a pig. I understand the Episcopals are all about brand identity…..and their brand identity has about as much clout as New Coke.
I don’t think this is all that insidious. I do think it’s funny. Enter the iamepiscopalian url and you get the regular TEC site, enter the regular TEC site url and you get iamepiscopalian. That’s funny. You’d think all the tribute…uh, I mean apportionment…our dioceses send 815 could afford them a better webmaster. Oh, that’s right, they’re spending it all trying to sue the pants off our friends.
It allows 815 to tell GC 2009 that there were millions of viewings of the page, thereby signifying that “all is well.”
Und du vill LIKE it!!!!!!!

I did what he said and I get the regular Church website. More red herrings and acrimony from A.S. Haley.

#4/5: I agree. As someone with marketing masters degree, this is common practice for in website design. Why is this news?

It’s an extension of the Listening Process.

It was supposed to be this way only through Lent,
If you follow the link, the church article says
“I am Episcopalian” will be the website homepage throughout Lent, with a link to the rest of the Episcopal Church’s web content.
It doesn’t say ‘only’ through Lent. Lent could have been a trial period. Maybe it will continue a while. Maybe not. Who knows.
#8 the answer is anger. It no longer even has to be rational anger, it has crowded out all other emotions.
