Anglican Archbishop Kidnapped in Nigeria

Archbishop of Benin Diocese, Anglican Communion and Edo State Chairman of the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Peter Imasuen, was yesterday abducted by unknown gunmen.
Imasuen was abducted in front of his official residence, Bishop Court, at Iyaro area in Benin City, at about 12:30p.m. while returning from church service.

    both for starting the prayer campaign and for the added info. The ransom sure sounds impossibly high. Even the lower figure, 15 million naira (instead of 50 million), or about $100K, is way beyond what the church could pay, so it seems like it might be some kind of political ploy to gain maximum media attention.

    The controversy in the background, the abrupt withdrawl of security forces, also is puzzling. Certainly, our Anglican brothers and sisters in Nigeriad need our prayers and support, especially in Benin Diocese.
