It seems the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree. What a blessing. May he truly have inherited is father’s gift of having a pastor’s heart and share it abundantly with those at Holy Trinity.

    Peace,

  2. William P. Sulik says:

Amen, Brother Sinner – again we are in agreement!

  3. David Wilson says:

Great call and another alum of Trinity School for Ministry I must say!

  4. Dan Tuton+ says:

    Congratulations John and Alysia!

  5. New Reformation Advocate says:

May both this young family and the church thrive in the years to come! The Yates lineage is indeed a goodly and noble one (Psalm 16:6), and the apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree. Yet of course both father and son have their own unqiue gifts, personalities, and life experiences; and Holy Trinity in Raleigh is likewise a unique congregation, as is The Falls Church.

So I too look forward to watching how this promising young priest and his wife and their thrilled church bear fruit in the future. It may well be that the renowned Yates legacy in ministry will play itself out in surprising ways that none of us can now foresee, for the God of infinite power and creativity is able to do more than we can ask or even imagine (Eph. 3:20-21). And in the case of a scion of John and Susan Yates, that’s a lot.
