One comment on “(ENS) Proposed liturgies honor creation, offer Daily Office alternatives

  1. John Boyland says:

    [blockquote]
“When you’re in a time of a lot of ferment, which we are, and anxiety about sexuality and all of these kinds of questions about authority and the Bible and ordination and so forth, rocking the boat with other things is not always timely,” she said. “So basically we wanted to make materials available [and] to recommend their use on other than the main service on Sundays.”
    [/blockquote]
This is the reason given for not adding a new lectionary for “creation” and instead to suggest liturgies for non-Sunday worship. Similarly no revision of the 1982 hymnal. This is the “incremental progress” technique. No need to frighten the pewsters.
