Russell Moore–Conservative Christianity and the transgender question

The Internet is abuzz with conversation about the “T” in “LGBT” this week, after California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law legislation supporting “equal access” for students who believe themselves to be the opposite gender from their biological sex. The comments to this thoughtful article are fascinating and offer an in site in the the LBGT worldview. If I read them correctly they seem to be saying that “I am what I subjectively think that I am and If you don’t agree with my subjective feelings, then you are being hateful to me.”

The author is accused of using hate speech, but what is really going on is the clash of a Gospel based worldview with an experience based one.

[blockquote]”…we believe we can no more surgically alter our gospel than we can surgically alter our gender.”[/blockquote]

The argument against that being that experience should scripture so we shouldn’t be so fussy about a little snip snip here or a snip snip there.

Of course your experience and how you feel about it is totally subjective. At one time subjective experience was secondary to objective reality, but now it’s just the opposite.
