I know Mike Lumpkin has a solid reputation of building new churches and reaching out to the unchurched and plugging them in.
However, I would have wished he had had a more traditional service focus in Summerville for cradle Anglicans to attend such as my 26-year old son and his new wife. Instead, the traditional Anglican service which he (my son) was most comfortable with was attended only by the over 55 set and they did not tend to reach out as well as the Baptist Church with which his Baptist wife was more familiar.
So they are now Baptist.
I say this, because, or perhaps this is the design, in our rush to become mega church to the unchurch, we may overlook those who would be the building blocks of a liturgical bible and faith-filled group of millennials instead in favor of millennials who know or care nothing about our rich and important Anglican liturgical traditions.
Indeed, well done!
