    It is very interesting, and I think significant, to hear Cameron describing the Anglican Communion as the federation of autonomous churches which some “communion conservatives” fear it may become. In Cameron’s eyes, it already is! He says that none of the “instruments of unity” has the authority to make rules, but only the individual churches themselves, and he acknowledges that some Anglican provinces may be farther from each other than are some Anglicans from other Christian communions.

    Yes, radical autonomous individuality rides high…esp. when it serves the purpose of postponing any discipline. Canon Cameron has the English blessing & curse of reasonableness and studied composure, the gift of analytical summary of “where we are at the present moment”. So long as American (i.e. Trinity Wall Street) money pays the way, this English trait will likely serve Screwtape’s team!
