(BBC) Deadly attack on Nigeria's Bayero university in Kano

A bomb squad and military units are searching for the gunmen who mounted the attack at Bayero University.

Reports suggest the violence may have targeted Christian students who were holding a religious service in one of the lecture theatres.

This is terrible. Slowly Christians will be driven from the North of Nigeria. This story suggests to me that long before the killers moved in, there were others, perhaps fellow-students, who provided the information about the Christian service that led to the attack. Truly blood is on their hands as much as on the hands of the killers. Shameful. I wish that the worldwide body of Muslim would make clear its revulsion at these deeds.

Good point Terry. Yet, this is how the gospel was established in Britain and Europe during the dark ages, despite the threat (and often the reality) of death.

I fear that I could not stand in the face of such persecution, yet somehow our fellow believers in Nigeria and other places do, and we must stand with them in prayer and by any other means to which we are called.
