([London] Times) Queen may dissolve synod over women bishops

The Queen could be asked to dissolve the ruling body of the Church of England if members fail to agree on how to ordain women bishops next month.

Positions have become more entrenched since last November, when a handful of members of the General Synod’s house of laity plunged the Church into crisis by voting against the move. This came after the houses of bishops and clergy had backed women bishops. Overall, more than seven in ten synod members voted in favour. It had been hoped that a similar schism would be avoided this summer when the synod meets to vote….

Oh my — *such* a temper tantrum from the libs over a simple voting defeat.

    Heh.

Hmm…A democratic vote against your pet issue following open debate becomes a “crisis;” yet, forcing it through by any means necessary is somehow not.
*yawn* Just another example of the tyranny of the left. All is well. Please move along.

He, he – the Spirit only works in some votes apparently.

The weird thing is that the progressives will not learn. The thing failed because all the conservatives (and some progressives) thought the protection for those who disagreed wasn’t good enough. So the progs went away and have come back with a measure with no protection plus a threat that if they don’t get their way they’ll dissolve Synod.

As “Defender of the Faith”, maybe the Queen should just decree that there will be NO women “bishops”. Case Closed. Why not take Gods Word as it is and get on with trying to follow it? I do not recall anywhere in the Bible where God asked for our input on what His Word would be. Novelties such as “gay marriage”, women “bishops” and other heretical fantasies of TEC and the Church of England would be mute points if we TRY to follow the Word of God, not the word of parliament or congress.

Really Ruthie? How absolutely thrilling. Who exactly is going to ask HM to do that and by what authority and precedent?

Shall I pay a quid to the digger to ‘read all about it’? No – I think not – but it is good to hear signs that the blessed Ruth is still alive following her walling up. Maybe the Telegraph or Independent will have more about it if it has any merit as a story.
