    Oh the irony, the irony. When Paisley met Archbishop Michael Ramsey at Lambeth Palace way back circa 1970, if I remember correctly, he roared that he refused to shake the hand of the man who had shaken the hand of the Pope.

    Still: it is good to lay rancour to rest and to recognise that all of us, hopefully, as we get older, find the volcano within dies down and charity starts to take its place.
