It has a nice smug air of erudition and even complacency. “All is here. We are smarter and we are moving on.”
Kind of shows how far they have departed from Christianity.
I think what we need to know is whether BCP rites are now just virtual templates, capable of adjustment as one needs. Eliminate the reading of the preface, adjust the vows, etc. Yes, in time, get a BCP printed rite, but until then, just work with what you’ve got and get on with it. ‘Printed rites’, like biblical texts, are just grab-bags for consumer selection and tailoring.

#3, we were in an “erudite” diocese before this current traditional one. FYI, that was always the party line–“Use what’s already in the Prayer Book, just change the pronouns.” My spouse, who is clergy, firmly declined.
No surprises. With that committee composition, there was no chance they would produce anything else.
