  1. New Reformation Advocate says:

Only their third visit in nine months, so I’m guessing they’re still church shopping (Inauguration Day and Easter were the other two). Lots of presidents have worshipped at St. John’s who weren’t Episcopal. So who knows? It’s convenient, and TEC is oh so politically correct.

  2. WestJ says:

They might be on the rolls anyway, attending on Easter an twice more may qualify for membership. I wonder if they gave him a pledge card?

  3. CanaAnglican says:

Looking at TEC ASA, three visits in nine months is only a little below average — and they have been out of town quite a bit.

  4. NoVA Scout says:

It strikes me as an innocent enough item about which it would be very difficult to be snarky. But, then again . . . .

I voted for Obama and politically I support him 100%. But I don’t believe for a minute that he’s a theist.

Consider the way in which his administration talks about “People of Faith”: as a special interest group like gays, the disabled, etc–a minority with whom regular people cut deals. The assumption is that, of course, regular people are not religious but there may be a few members of that peculiar religious minority who are actually housebroken and almost socially acceptable, like Rick Warren, with whom normal people can negotiate.
