passages.
Last month, more than 4,000 people from 48 churches in the Pittsburgh region began to read 100 “essential” readings in the Bible ”” 50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament

The E100 challenge is a Bible reading
plan that provides an overview of the biblical narrative and advances participants’ Bible knowledge through regular reading.
This is one of the reasons as an individual, I like to use the daily office from the BCP in a quiet moment of the day. (Today’s list of readings are found on pp 991, as many of you probably already know.) The two year cycle lays things out in a nice, orderly fashion. I come away from that time challenged, comforted, and refreshed.
Exactly, Betsybrowneyes. Why reinvent the wheel? The Daily Office provides (at a minimum) over 1,000 readings in the course of a year and covers most of the Bible in the two-year cycle.
We signed up as a family with the E100 and we have enjoyed doing it. (So far we are up to 67 and have been taking a bit longer than the 100 days!)
Anything that gets people reading their bible is good in my opinion.
To turn this into a “contest” is puerile. After all, any passages will do. Those who read the Bible will read anyway, by and large. To “Guiness Book of World Records” Bible reading is offensive to me, at the very least. Larry
