[Bishop Dan] Zoreka, who started pastoral work on October, 10, 2010 has confirmed 1,675 Christians in the Anglican faith.
Zoreka, accompanied by his wife, Florence, said it was important for Christians to build the foundation of the church by ensuring that the young ones attend Bible lessons at their local church.
This diocese is in southwestern Uganda. It was created from the Dio of N Kigezi in 1994; N Kigezi had been formed from Kigezi some years earlier. My wife and I visited a Ugandan friend, a clergyman of the the Church of Uganda, about the time it was being organized. It was fascinating to be in an area where entire new dioceses were being formed, and not simply a church plant. The diocese borders the DR of the Congo, and it contains a gorilla nature preserve and national park, as well as Queen Elizabeth National Park on the south of Lake Albert, one of the Great Lakes of Uganda. It is a stunning place, naturally and supernaturally.
