Joy Hunter, director of communications for the South Carolina Diocese, told The Christian Post that the pastoral letter will not change the course the Diocese… [has taken].
“The Diocese of South Carolina has already disassociated from that organization,” said Hunter, adding that Schori’s authority holds no jurisdiction.
“We disagree with her statement that a diocese cannot leave TEC. It is in error historically, canonically and under the civil laws of this state.”
You know, it strikes me that I think there has been as much or more media coverage of the situation in SC in recent weeks than there was about General Convention, which seemed to provoke a large yawn except for the story re: the passage of the rite for SSBs.
It’s good to see the media recognizing the importance of this story…
I’m praying that South Carolina’s words and actions in these days will be winsome and bring much glory to our Lord, causing many to consider His Truths afresh.
