  1. SC blu cat lady says:

Here is the comment I made at the Post and Courier with a few corrections.
[blockquote]Some factual errors…1) The other Federal case is a personal one that was filed with Bishop vonRosenberg as plaintiff against Bishop Lawrence. He is suing Bishop Lawrence for violation of Landham Act (federal trademark law). 2)Lawyers for TECinSC had no choice as there is no appeal available to them. 3) The state case- The Diocese of SC already has control over the name, seal, and other marks of the Dicoese of SC. The case seeks to prevent others (like TECinSC) from using the name and marks. There is currently an injunction against TECinSC for using the name and the marks of the diocese which do not belong to them. 4) Bishop vonRosenberg was not elected but appointed by the Presiding Bishop of TEC. 5) Please use the proper name for the remnant who have decided to remain in TEC, TECinSC. This group is not even a diocese yet as they need to be admitted to General Convention of TEC which will next meet in 2015. 6) The ‘independent diocese’ IS the Diocese of South Carolina- there is no “continuing diocese” affiliated with TEC.[/blockquote]
