Listen to it all (It begins with the reading of the gospel) [It is an MP3 file]. It occurred on the occasion of the Bishop’s confirmation visit to Saint Paul’s in Summerville, South Carolina in times past.

“What is astonishing to me I suppose is that we in the church make so little of the Ascension of our Lord.” I am astonished too. At least our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters celebrate the event as a holy day of obligation. In most of the Anglican and Episcopal churches, I’ve been familiar with over the past 30 years, the day passes unnoticed and certainly not celebrated.
