A desperate and pathetic slogan-campaign, that’s what I make of it.

It could be a good campaign and some of the actual blurb about it is pretty good. The name is weak for sure because it supposes that you have been to church before (in any meaningful way — I’ve had numerous British folks tell me they were baptized but haven’t been inside a church since then except for the occasional wedding or funeral) and it also has a kind of patronizing sound to it — like “back to school.” I’ve had Brits tell me that they knew zero about Christianity but were (intellectually) curious about it. Obviously they would feel strange just showing up so it’s good that they identify a day when people can go and not feel out of place. But they need a name that suggests you’re exploring something new. And that something new is not weekly churchgoing (although obviously that’s there goal) but a personal encounter with Christ.

i think it’s a great idea, they need to be doing something and this is better than nothing. not what else could be expected with the leadership such as it is.
    good try!

The people in the homepage flickr display mostly seemed to be enjoying their association with the church, which is a good witness in itself. But a clergyman in pink striped short-sleeved shirt? Puhlease no. Too trendy by far.
