Good, clear, no-nonsense statement. I like Bishop Chartres.

This continues to be massively mis-handled and a PR disaster.

Meanwhile apparently the Cathedral will reopen tomorrow, the release of its supposed ‘health and safety’ concerns having provoked hoots of derision and mirth. It forced the Cathedral authorities to ask the protesters to rearrange tents which they willlingly did. Easy wasn’t it – after all that drama and attacks of the vapours from the Dean and Chapter.

A sad failure to grasp the opportunity for evangelism and witness.

Meanwhile, notwithstanding being sent to live in the Cathedral doghouse, Giles Fraser has threatened to resign if protesters are forcibly removed. Every cloud has a silver lining.

LOL on your last paragraph, Pageantmaster.
Here’s a Telegraph offering I really love. Good for the gal who organized it! She’s right, though. It’s not really a flashmob.

Here’s the hymn sheet for the “flash evensong.” I would have loved to have been there — they sang some of my favorites!

A Flash Evensong! Suddenly, from every corner, twenty converging zimmer frames resounded on the ancient cobble stones, thirteen spinsters on bicycles rang the changes on their bells, a surpliced choir emerged like the Levites from amidst the tents of Israel, a Nunc Dimmitis battled with the klaxons – it was awesome!
