Seminarians currently enrolled at St. Mary’s served as hosts during the opening day of the first formation weekend in January.

He credit[s] the “extraordinary efforts and help” and “time and resources” of the archdiocese and Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo with bringing about “exactly what Pope Benedict hoped for — the close relationship with the local diocese and the new ordinariate.”
Who cares? If you want to be a Roman Catholic, and get poached by Rome, best of luck to you, but you will not be Anglican, and the ‘Anglican patrimony’ will be wafer thin. Be prepared to shut your eyes to the still woeful child care provision.
And on no account ask about the money or the US child abuse.
#1. Are you pointing out that Catholic church members are the only ones who abuse children and practice corrupt business transactions? It seems to me that was the gist of your comments. Good that you counsel converts to shut their eyes and ask no questions. And good luck with your spiritual journey within a church that’s obviously never experienced the same sins as the RCC. I hope that’s working out for you.

Certainly not, but I am pointing out that there is no evidence with continuing revelations that the RC church has taken on board the lessons, or is determined to root out the problems, as the latest child abuse revelations and cardinal appointments show. All institutions where there are children are targetted by those who seek contact for sinful purposes; the issue is how the institution responds. I see no evidence that there is anything but denial going on.

I am not part of such a church, but I am part of a church which has taken on board the lessons of the past and put in place rigorous child-protection measures and auditing standards to ensure that to the extent possible that children are protected from those who wish them harm, and that there are proper accounting safeguards which cannot be over-ridden by senior officials.

#4. My point thank you. Given the evidence within your presentation, what is it then that would compel such men to ever leave the CoE for the RCC? Surely they are men of intelligence and discrimination. Why would such men seek union with the institution you describe? I think I know.
