Erie-based Episcopal diocese to allow blessing of same-sex unions

“I support blessing same-sex unions, but some of my faithful fellow Episcopalians do not,” Rowe said in a statement. “The Episcopal Church in northwestern Pennsylvania is a place where people of good conscience can disagree charitably about such matters. We respect and love each other, and we are united in the hope and healing of Jesus Christ.”

Read it all and see the diocesan guidelines there.

From the diocesan charts baptized membership was 3,758 in 2011 I believe they are using 2006 numbers in this article as that year there were 4,703 baptized members. There has been a 34.6% loss in membership in the Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania between 2001 and 2011.

The new profession of faith [strike that] belief [strike that] something authorized for general use in The Episcopal Church:

#1, and if I calculate correctly, the loss under +Rowe has been 20% of baptised members.

What has this bishop actually accomplished during his tenure (apart from to shrink his flock)?

i just remember hearing about a drag gospel concert in one church, st. marys hamilton village, a concert given by drag queens. i thought it was a joke until i called the church and found out it was for real.
so this isn’t much of a surprise.
