Late in the evening of November 28 last year, Habila Adamu was at home with his wife and kids in the Yobe state of Northern Nigeria when visitors stopped by. He opened the door, shocked to find gunmen wearing robes and masks.
They demanded he step outside and they peppered him with questions. What was his name? Habila Adamu. Was he a member of the Nigerian police? No. Was he a soldier? No. Was he a member of the state security service? No. He told them he was a businessman.
OK, are you a Christian?” they asked.
“I am a Christian,” Habila said.
Initially fearful, Habila came to terms with the realization that it was the day of his death. He began praying for strength, forgiveness and salvation.
How often am I merely tempted by the world and I deny my Lord? I pray for the martyrs in Nigeria and their families.
Please read this article to the end and see the disservice the US State Department does to this conflict and those murdered.
Islamist violence is not caused by poverty and inequality. It is caused by Islamism. Until our diplomats understand this we will continue to misapply funds and promote ineffective or even dangerous policies.
How many of us would be ready to die for the faith, as this man was?
Ditto to #1 and 2. An inspiring story. As ++Duncan has said many times, “Courage breeds courage.”

Agree with all of the above. However, it should not be a surprise that the US State Dept refuses to acknowledge religion (Islam) as the reason behind the violence in Nigeria and other countries. Sad but not surprising.
