Sheldon Vanauken writes a limerick "for every dishonest priest or bishop" who didn't really believe

There was a young man of divinity
who could not believe in the Trinity
But he won his degree
And episcopal see
By fixing his eyes upon finity.

–Sheldon Vanauken, Under the Mercy (San Francisco: Ignatius Press, 1985), p. 106 [emphasis his]

Very amusing, and even more amusing seeing the categories this has been filed under.

Why am I in pain too? The realisation that there is truth in this – ouch, that hurt!

Canada slips under the radar again – but Canadians are nice – everyone says so, so it really doesn’t matter what they believe, as no one really notices much. When we think of them we are overcome by a warm fuzzy feeling.
