    Fraser’s loose talk and poor advice to the London police distracted the Cathedral from its primary function, which is to make money as a tourist attraction. That he denies central tenets of Christian orthodoxy, promotes [noncelibate] gay ordination at every opportunity and expends most of his energy in denigrating orthodox Anglicans has never counted against (indeed, it has been an asset), but screwing up the books is unforgivable.
    Nevertheless, his friends at the BBC can be relied upon to help him.

    I have substantial disagreements with Giles Fraser from time to time, but I was sorry to read this.

    In a fluid environment, and in an urban one to boot, leadership isn’t easy.
