([London] Times) Giles Fraser says Archbishop Sentamu’s stance on same-sex Marriage is ”˜rubbishâ

The Church of England was plunged into another row over gay marriage…[recently] when a cleric condemned a new statement by the Archbishop of York against gay marriage as “absolute rubbish”.

The Rev Giles Fraser, who has taken up a position in a deprived parish in South London after resigning from St Paul’s over the Occupy protest, tweeted: “Absolute rubbish from the Archbishop of York, I’m afraid.”

Dr John Sentamu had posted a paper on his own website explaining why he believed same-sex marriage to be wrong. He criticises those who attempt to draw a parallel between same-sex marriage and interracial marriage.

Who cares what motor-mouth of Southwark tweets, and why would anyone bother to pay the digger a quid to read about it? Then Giles wonders why people cross the street when they see him coming. Sad.

Yeah, whatever Ruthie, if you want to write about a disgraced cleric no one listens to any more in a paper no one reads.

#2 – Yet the BBC gives him a regular pulpit, no?
I agre he is a tedious set of liberal cliches. He believes so little I wonder how this Jewish lad ended up in the Chrisitan tribe/ Perhaps he believed more in the past.
I understand evangelical Anglicans are planning to set up a church in Fraser’s old parish in London, so there is hope yet.

Like PM, I was non-plussed. The opening sentence is: “The Church of England was plunged into another row over gay marriage…”.

I read further, expecting to hear about some heated debate in Synod, or perhaps a press statement issued by a group like Reform or Church Society.

Instead, what do we get? A *tweet* by a single priest in Southwark…. Obviously a very slow news day.
